 RAMA TO THE RESCUE

        The story takes place in a village. The incident happens one night when a tired couple was about to sleep. They listen strange noises and suspect that someone is trying to break into their home. In fact, it was a notorious thief who was breaking into their home.

କାହାଣୀ ଟି କୌଣସି ଏକ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଟ ଗ୍ରାମ ରେ ରାତ୍ରୀକାଳୀନ ସମୟରେ ଘଟିଥିବା ର ଅସ୍ଵାଭାବିକ ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ଉପରେ ଆଲୋକପାତ କରେ । ପତିପତ୍ନୀ ବାସ କରୁଥିବା ଏକ ଗୃହ ମଧ୍ୟ କୁ ଅର୍ଦ୍ଧ ରାତ୍ରି ସମୟରେ ଟଙ୍କା ଓ ସୁନା ଗହଣା ସବୁ କୁ ଚୋରିକରିବା ର ଉଦ୍ଧେଶ୍ୟ ନେଇ ଏକ ଚୋର ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିଅଛି । କର୍ମ ଜଞ୍ଜାଳ ରେ ଦିବସ ସାରା ଘାରି ହୋଇଥିବାରୁ କ୍ଳାନ୍ତ ଓ ଅବସନ୍ନ ହୋଇପଡିଥିବା ଏହି ଦମ୍ପତ୍ତି ଶୋଇବାକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହେଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ କେହି ଜଣେ ତାଙ୍କ ଘର ଭାଙ୍ଗି ଭିତରକୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଥିବା ନେଇ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ହୁଅନ୍ତି ।

        The man listens carefully and realized that the burglar had already entered into their room. His wife suggests him not to react in any way. The man thinks that the village thanedar would have not seen the thief. Now both of them were thinking up a plan to scare the burglar away.

ସ୍ଵାମୀ ଜଣକ କାନ ଡେରି ସେହି ସ୍ତବ୍ଧ ରାତ୍ରି ର ଗାଢ ଅନ୍ଧାର ଭିତରେ ଚୋର ଟି ର କର୍ଜ୍ୟାକଳାପ କୁ ବୁଝିବାକୁ ଯତ୍ନ କରେ । ଚୋର ଜଣକ ତାଙ୍କ ଗୃହ ମଧ୍ୟ କୁ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରିସାରିଅଛି ବୋଲି ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ହୁଏ । ଗ୍ରାମ ରକ୍ଷୀ ର ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ଏହି ଚୋର ଉପରେ ପଡି ନ ଥିବା ଲୋକ ଜଣକ ଅନୁମାନ କରିବସେ । ଏ ଭଳି ପରିସ୍ଥିତି ରେ କି ପ୍ରକାର ଯୋଜନା କରି ଚୋର ଦାଉ ରୁ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବେ ବୋଲି ପତିପତ୍ନୀ ଅସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଭାବରେ କଥାବାର୍ତ୍ତା ହେଲେ ।

        The thief hears the talking of the couple. He makes up his mind to wait till the couple sleeps. In fact, he was wondering to find out the couple’s money. However, the couple remains busy in a conversation. They were discussing to name their future child Rama. This conversation perplexes the thief. At this point he ensures himself that they are discussing about the money. However, the wife talks to his husband that if Rama is in house, she will call him gently in a low voice and loudly if he is in yard.

ଦମ୍ପତ୍ତିଙ୍କ ଅସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ କଥା ସବୁକୁ ଚୋର ଟି ଶୁଣିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରେ । ପତିପତ୍ନୀ ଙ୍କ ର ଶୋଇବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ ମନ ମଧ୍ୟ ରେ ସେ ସିଦ୍ଧାନ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହଣ କରେ । ଅପର ପକ୍ଷ ରେ ଦମ୍ପତି କଥୋପକଥନ ରେ ବ୍ୟସ୍ତ ରହନ୍ତି । ଚୋର କୁ ଘଉଡେଇବା ର ଅଭିନବ ଉପାୟ କୁ ଚାଲୁରଖି ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ଭାବ୍ୟ ସନ୍ତାନ ର ନାମ ସ୍ଥିର କରିବସିବା ରେ ବ୍ୟସ୍ତ ରହନ୍ତି । ଦମ୍ପତି ଙ୍କ ର ଅସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ କଥୋପକଥନ କୁ ଚୋର ଟି ଠିକ୍ ଭାବରେ ଶୁଣିପାରେନା ଓ ଦ୍ଵନ୍ଦ ରେ ଛନ୍ଦି ହୋଇ ସେମାନେ ଅବଶ୍ୟ ତାଙ୍କ ଟଙ୍କା ଓ ସୁନା ଗହଣା ବିଷୟରେ କଥା ହେଉଥିବେ ବୋଲି ବିଶ୍ଵାସ କରେ । ହେଲେ, ଦମ୍ପତି ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ପତ୍ନୀ ଜଣକ ନିଜ ସ୍ବାମୀଙ୍କୁ ଭବ୍ୟ ସନ୍ତାନ ‘ରାମ’ ଘରେ କି ଅଗଣା ରେ ଥିଲାବେଳେ କଅଁଳ ଢଙ୍ଗରେ ଧୀରେ ‘ରାମ’ ‘ରାମ’ ବୋଲି ଡାକିବେ ବୋଲି ଜଣାଉଥାନ୍ତି ।

        Now answering to his husband’s question, she says that, if the boy is not found in the yard or in the street, she will call him at her top of the voice. Just after replying to his husband, she calls loudly Rama! Rama!

ଚୋର ପାଇଁ ଏ ସମସ୍ତ କଥା ନିରର୍ଥକ ଜାଣି ଟଙ୍କା ପଇସା ବିଷୟରେ କଥା ହୁଅନ୍ତୁ ବୋଲି ସେ ଆଶା କରେ । ଅପର ପକ୍ଷ ରେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଜଣକ ରାମ ଯଦି ଘରେ କିମ୍ବା ଅଗଣା ରେ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିଗୋଚର ନ ହୁଏ ହେଲେ ଉଚ୍ଚ କଣ୍ଠରେ ରାମ ରାମ ବୋଲି ଚିତ୍କାର ଛାଡିବ କହି ସତ କୁ ସତ ଯୋର୍ ରେ ‘ରା….ମ’ ‘ରା….ମ’ ଡାକ ଛାଡିବସେ ।

        

The thief on the other hand believes that, the couple is calling the village kotwal. He panicked and tried to leave the place. But the actual watchman arrives on time listening his name called repeatedly. He arrested the burglar. The cleverness of the couple saved them from being robbed.

ରାମ ନାଁ କୁ ଶୁଣି ଚୋର ଜଣକ ଗ୍ରାମ ର ରକ୍ଷୀ ର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କୁ ଦମ୍ପତି ଲୋଡୁଛନ୍ତି ଭାବନା ରେ ବ୍ୟସ୍ତ ହୋଇ ଗୃହ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ କରିବା କୁ ସିଦ୍ଧାନ୍ତ ନିଏ । ହେଲେ, ଗୃହ ରକ୍ଷୀ ର କାନ ରେ ଦମ୍ପତି ଙ୍କ ର ଡାକ ବାଜିବାରୁ ତୁରନ୍ତ ଧାଇଁ ଆସେ ଓ ଚୋର ଟି କୁ ପଳାଇବା ପୂର୍ବ ରୁ କାବୁ କରିନିଏ । ଏହିଭଳି ଭାବରେ ପତିପତ୍ନୀ ଚୋର କବଳ ରୁ ମୁକ୍ତି ପାଆନ୍ତି ।
